Today’s Daily Post can only be labeled a ‘Pot Stirrer’ : Is access to medical care something that governments should provide, or is it better left to the private sector? Are there drawbacks to your choice?
If by ‘access’ one means safe roads, by all means. Tax dollars fund those.
If by ‘private sector’ one means professionals well trained (you know, doctors) who can accurately diagnose and treat illness at patients’ point of need in facilities that are up-to-date, clean, safe, well-staffed and administrated, by all means. Let free enterprise reign.
Are there drawbacks?
Of course.
What “should government provide”? Liberty. Adherence to the Constitution. Defense of that Constitution against enemies, both foreign & domestic.
But I digress…
Interesting view point. This is mine http://wp.me/p2X7Ju-C9

Americans have inherited an obsession with “rights” from our ancestors. I count my citizenship more as a follower of Christ and I like what one renegade farmer/preacher said, “Love has no rights but the right to give itself away.”
